How can we build a church that is truly alive—united in spirit and in truth? How can we create an environment where [Divine Principle] presentations are given continuously each day, and where new people rejoice in hearing the Word and complete their journey to the Blessing? What must we do to transform our church into a living, breathing community filled with vitality?
Can we become a church that welcomes and raises many new members without becoming fixated on numbers? Beyond that, True Father’s works are vast and far-reaching, and I have also been thinking deeply about how we can preserve and develop them in accordance with Heaven’s Will—while moving forward together as one.
The image of Rev. Eu Hyo-won in the early days of our church—lecturing from morning till night, barely eating, and pressing on despite physical hardship, driven by a fervent desire to save even one more soul—remains vivid in my memory. The fruits of his devotion became the 36 Blessed Couples, the 72 Blessed Couples—the very roots of the Unification Church.
The church must be a place where God’s Word is shared ceaselessly. A congregation that only gathers for Sunday worship cannot truly be called a church. We must become a community that is alive—breathing and active twenty-four hours a day. Every member should witness to at least one person each day and guide them to listen to the Word. Only then can we fulfill our goal.
To continually testify to True Father, to explain his accomplishments, and to reveal who he is—that is the very essence of witnessing. Into this work, I want to breathe love, heart, and the presence of the Holy Spirit and God’s spirit.
Please continue to offer your guidance and support on how we can grow, doing our utmost even in the areas where we have fallen short until now. The church president will also step forward to take action, and I hope all of you will join in that effort. Let us work diligently together. We will provide strong support to the Witnessing Department, the Second-Generation Department, and CARP, with the goal of raising capable leaders and helping the second-generation members walk the right path.
In the early days of our church, when Father was still young, he personally led workshops—gathering young people during the summer tuna season in Boston to train them. In that same spirit, we will now place greater emphasis on second-generation and CARP activities. If we are to play a role in helping the world, we must raise many capable individuals and send them out into the world. This means we should witness, doesn’t it? We cannot remain where we are.
Numbers are no longer the important thing; what truly matters now is witnessing to new people.
Within the next two to three years, we must accomplish something miraculous—something we can present to the world and offer before Heaven. Just last night, I lay down at 11:00 pm, only to wake at 1:00 am, unable to sleep. This happens every night. It is incredible how urgent each day feels. Now that I’m 70, can I remain healthy for another 20 years? Life doesn’t always go as you plan. Unexpected events can make things difficult—and that only heightens one’s anxiousness. There are still so many things that must be put in order.
Do you remember the two things I resolved to accomplish when I met Father at the age of 17? I have fulfilled them both. Even in circumstances beyond what you can imagine, I overcame every obstacle and accomplished everything.
Don’t just talk about a life-or-death resolution—live by it. You often speak of putting faith into practice, don’t you? Please show this now through real results.hat is the current responsibility of our blessed families who are living in the Cheon Il Guk era, the time for the completion of God’s providence? The Creator, the center of the universe, had a dream. God created the natural world, and finally created the first man and woman in the divine image, giving them a growing period, a span of time during which they should mature.
For 6,000 years, human history has seen a constant cycle of war and conflict. Through human ignorance, even this beautiful planet Earth—which Heavenly Parent created for us—is being destroyed. Scientists are saying that at this rate there is little hope for the future of humanity or for the future of our planet Earth.
