A New Space for Youth, A New Step Toward Peace
On September 19, Plain Truth Mission Family Church in Los Angeles hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hoops for Peace. Christian pastors, community leaders and young people gathered as Bishop G. C. Durham, inspired by True Parents’ peace work through ACLC and Peace Cup LA, opened a basketball court in the church’s backyard. USA Peace Cup director Joshua Holmes highlighted the role of religious and community leaders in building peace. The court will bring young people, neighbors and police officers together across social and racial divides.
