At 10:00 a.m. on August 30, a memorial service commemorating the 14th anniversary of the Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, True Parent of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind, was held at the HJ Heaven and Earth Cheonbo Training Center. It followed the 14th anniversary ceremony and the Special Night Vigil held at Cheonshim Won on August 28. Leaders and blessed family members from around the world gathered both in person and online for the service, which was prepared as an occasion to honor True Father’s life and his spirit of peace and to pledge to fully inherit the Will of True Parents.
The service opened with preparatory songs of praise offered by the praise team. FFWPU-Heavenly Korea Vice President Kim Dong-yeon then gave the opening declaration, which was followed by respectful bows, the singing of the Cheon Il Guk anthem, and the recitation of the Family Pledge.
n his opening address, Vice President Kim recalled the resolve that blessed families around the world made at the time of True Father’s Seonghwa, and urged members to keep in their hearts each day True Parents’ teaching to offer full devotion for the sake of their families, their nation, and the world. A reading from True Parents’ words followed, conveying their unwavering determination never to halt the march toward peace and prosperity, whatever the circumstances.
Cheonshim Won President Lee Gi-seong expressed his gratitude that leaders and members throughout the world could unite in worship on the 14th anniversary of True Father’s Seonghwa. He prayed that, gathering the devotion of members everywhere, they would strive all the more for a revival of faith and for the realization of a world of peace.
After a commemorative video, staff members of FFWPU-Heavenly Korea offered a song of praise, followed by a video in which Moon Shin-chul and Moon Shin-heung, Inheritors of Heaven’s Love and Blessing, read the memorial letter presented at the anniversary ceremony. In their letter, they looked back on the lives of True Parents, who devoted themselves throughout their lives to the true family movement and to world peace, and expressed their firm determination to carry on, whole and intact, the tradition of faith and the spirit of peace that have been passed down from generation to generation since their beginning in 1960.
FFWPU-Heavenly Korea President Rev. Dr. Song Yong-cheon noted that True Father dedicated his entire life to the salvation of humanity and the establishment of a world of peace, and emphasized that True Parents’ providential course has continued without interruption since the Seonghwa, through the establishment of the Word and of tradition, and the construction of Cheon Won Gung. Citing True Parents’ teaching that “the heart of the matter lies with myself, with my family, and with my people and nation,” he called on every member to do their utmost to fulfill their responsibility in their own place, and then offered the benediction.
Following the message, staff members of FFWPU-Heavenly Korea offered songs of determination, after which respectful bows were offered and a commemorative photograph was taken. With the closing declaration by the MC, the memorial service marking the 14th anniversary of the Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, True Parent of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind, came to a close.
