Around 650 participants worldwide join 14-day program featuring pilgrimages and the PWA Challenge
“Pure Water Assembly 2026,” bringing together future generations from around the world, opened on August 13 in the HJ Cheonwon area of Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.
Hosted by the Human Resources Development Institute, the event brought together around 650 young participants from 46 countries. After completing registration on the first day, participants began getting to know one another’s names and cultures, taking their first steps into 14 days of交流 and fellowship.
At the opening ceremony held on August 14 at the multipurpose hall of Cheon Won Gung, missionary Moon Shin-chul emphasized that the Pure Water generation must move beyond prayer and devotion toward action in order to realize Cheon Il Guk.
“Building the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, Cheon Il Guk, cannot be accomplished through prayer and devotion alone,” Moon said. “Action is necessary, and I believe that action begins in gatherings like this, where brothers and sisters come together.”
Do Hyun-seop, Director of the Human Resources Development Institute , encouraged the participants, saying, “During these 14 days, I hope you learn from one another, love one another, and grow together. I hope you become a clear and powerful stream of water that can change the world.”
Participants made a pilgrimage to the Cheon Il Sanctum at Cheon Won Gung, where they reflected on Heavenly Parent’s dream and the heart of the True Parents. They also attended a lecture on the life course of the True Parents by Deputy Association President Kim Dong-yeon, taking time to reflect on the meaning of faith and the lives of the True Parents.
A pilgrimage to historic sites connected to the Unification movement was also held. Participants visited the Original Headquarters Church, the Cheon Il Guk Embassy, and Heukseok Dongjak Church, among other locations, reflecting on the roots of their faith and the historical significance of each site.
Programs designed to encourage interaction among participants from different countries were also organized. During a recreational sports day, young people of different nationalities and languages joined together as teams, taking part in activities and building closer bonds with one another.
At the “PWA Challenge Showcase,” participants presented examples of witnessing and volunteer activities and shared their own experiences of putting their faith into practice. Through the presentations, they reflected together on how even small actions can become a starting point for changing the people around them and the wider world.
“Pure Water Assembly 2026” will continue through August 26. Through a variety of educational and exchange programs, participants will explore their vision and role as members of the world’s future generation.
