Pure Water Youth Speak Out with One Voice for Peace
Hosted by the Incheon–Northern Gyeonggi District of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, a “One-Heart Peace Rally for Religious Freedom and Peace” was held on November 2 in front of Daehanmun Gate at Deoksu-gung Palace in downtown Seoul, with more than 2,000 participants including Pure Water youth. Rather than being a simple demonstration, the rally was organized to sincerely communicate the identity of the Family Federation and True Parents’ vision for peace. Under the theme “Unificationist Youth Speak Out!” the event featured speeches and testimonies from youth members, the reading of a peace declaration for religious freedom, peace performances, a peace march, and a “plogging” activity—walking or jogging while picking up litter.
The opening ceremony, hosted by youth evangelist Kim Bo-min, beginning with a video highlighting True Parents’ life course and their legacy of peace, set an inspiring tone for the gathering. In her peace address, Moon Lan-young, President Emeritus of the Women’s Federation for World Peace, introduced a range of peace initiatives—including the founding of WFWP, the Korea–Japan sisterhood movement, UN NGO activities, and reconciliation efforts among women in the Middle East. She stressed that “peace is possible only through the practice of true love,” adding, “True love is to give, give again, and forget that you have even given.”
Moving Youth Speeches Reaching Beyond Generations and Cultures
Following the Pure Water praise team’s peace performances of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “Top of the World,” Pure Water young people took the stage to deliver heartfelt speeches that expressed a vision transcending differences of generation and culture.
Kim Yu-mi, a second-generation young adult from a multicultural family, spoke candidly about her childhood struggles and how her life journey had shaped her. She emphasized that “understanding differences is the first step toward peace,” and highlighted the values of love and respect she gained through cultural exchange and volunteer activities. She added that, through learning about True Parents’ peace initiatives, she came to realize that “peace is not something to speak about, but something to be practiced in daily life.”
Lee Tae-in, pastor of the Gimpo Church and a second-generation member from a Korean-Japanese family, spoke openly about the discrimination he had faced during his school years. He shared that through True Parents’ teachings, he came to dream of “a world where our differences become the starting point of peace, not sources of hurt.” He is now actively engaged in community service and NGO activities, committing himself to his calling as a young leader preparing the way for peace.
Next, Bucheon Church pastor Rev. Oh Chung-wan expressed his resolve to carry forward the four-generation legacy of faith in his family and be a living testimony to Heavenly Parent’s dream and vision of peace. He emphasized that it is precisely a life of faith that offers the true path toward healing the divisions of our world.
Peace Is Built by Action, Not by Words Alone
After viewing the video “Messages from Unificationist Youth”—planned and produced by young members of the Incheon–Northern Gyeonggi District—four youth representatives (Song Jin-ho, Hong Jung-min, Seo Dong-gyun, and Noh Eun-ha) took the stage to read a peace declaration. In their statement, they affirmed, “We will transform hatred and division into forgiveness and love, and realize the ideal of one human family through the spirit of truth and justice.” They pledged to live as a peace-centered generation that puts True Parents’ vision into action. As participants chanted slogans such as “Unite through love,” “We create true peace,” and “One family of humankind under God,” they set out from Daehanmun Gate at Deoksu-gung Palace, marching toward the Seoul City Hall Plaza and Seoul Station.
During the peace march, participants also cleaned and picked up litter along the route—demonstrating the message that “peace is fulfilled through action.” The youth participants shared their hope that such confident expressions of their faith and vision for peace will continue, and they pledged to practice true love in their daily lives, following the example of True Parents, who have devoted their lives to peace.
Meanwhile, Oh In-chul, Incheon–Northern Gyeonggi district leader and chair of the One-Heart Youth Rally, explained, “The ‘one heart’ in the name of this rally signifies uniting our hearts with the heart of Holy Mother Han.” He expressed his determination to hold further One-Heart Rallies throughout the Incheon–Northern Gyeonggi region and to proclaim to the world Heavenly Parent’s dream—centered on True Parents’ lives and achievements, and on the principles of creation they have taught.

Scientists are saying that at this rate there is little hope for the future of humanity or for the future of our planet Earth.
